During the Edo period, the post town designated by Ieyasu, Hidetada, etc. fulfilled the important mission of Tsugitate and Hikyaku as a town that supports the highway, and contributed greatly to society. In recent years, these post stations and highways have begun to be forgotten, and it is sometimes seen that they are handed down in a distorted manner. The first event was held in Shizuoka City, the second event was held in Nagoya City, and the third event was held in Mishima City, centered on the "57th Tokaido".
With reference to the Hikyaku business, which was one of the missions of the post station, mailing including the town Hikyaku was started, and 2021 will be the 150th year. We believe that continuous activities to properly convey post station culture and highway culture and active exchange of information by related parties will lead to the development of local communities that utilize highway information and cultural heritage. ..
4th Highway Exchange Meeting (4th Tokaido 57th Exchange Meeting)
It has been 150 years since the post offices were opened at 57 Tokaido, Minoji / Nagoya, and Sayaji 4 inns from Tokyo to Osaka on March 1, 1871 (April 20, 1871). The postal service in Japan was founded by incorporating the hikyaku business, which was an important mission of the post station, and there is a deep connection between the postal service and the post station / highway.
